Brief: This project, now complete, is a modern single storey extension to a detached house in Headington, Oxford. The existing property is Victorian in era and is set over 2 floors with a large rear garden. Our clients wanted to make significant alterations to the rear of the property and planned to demolished existing delapidated structures and replace them with a contemporary extension that would provide an open plan living area. This space was to be modern in finish and feel in order to complement the existing property. A key part of the design brief was that large glass corner doors open onto a newly formed patio that would match the extension is both floor finish and level, creating a seamless link between inside and out.
Build Cost: Estimated at £45k.
Status: Completed September 2009.
