Type: Side Return / Rear Extension.
Brief: This project, now complete, was a single storey rear extension to a terraced house in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The existing property, dating from about 1900, was set over 3 floors with a poorly insulated conservatory type extension to the side return. Our clients wanted to enlarge the existing extension, while upgrading it thermally (with a new pitched tiled roof) to create a large open plan kitchen / dining / living area with bi-folding doors (oak) opening onto a newly decked garden area. All materials and details were to match existing to ensure that the extension appears a natural addition to the original property.
Build Cost: Estimated at £85k.
