Residential Loft Conversion Commission: East Oxford, Oxfordshire 12.

Type: Rear Extension and Loft Conversion.
Brief: This project, now complete, was the addition of a large single storey rear extension and loft conversion to a semi-detached property in East Oxford, Oxford. The original property dates from the 1930's and was originally set over 2 floors with a modest rear garden. Our client wanted to make significant alterations to the rear of the property to create a generous open plan kitchen / dining area. This space is to be modern in finish and feel and must complement the existing property. Large bi-folding glass doors were to open onto a newly decked area to the rear. In addition to these works, alterations were also made to the loft space of the property in order to create an additional bedroom with en-suite facilities. To maximise space within the loft a large rear dormer was added under permitted development along with a hip to gable conversion.
Please note that Crawford Bond Architects were not involved on site during the construction of this project and as such a number of design details have been amended without our involvement. The attached elevation drawings show the original design.
Build Cost: Estimated at £120k.
Status: Completed September 2011.
