Type: Rear / Side Extension and Internal Alterations.
Brief: This project, now complete, was a single storey rear / side extension to a detached property in the Boars Hill area of Oxford.
The original property was set over 2 floors and sat within generous grounds. Our clients wanted to make significant alterations to the rear of the property to create an open plan kitchen / dining area, new utility space / wine store and enlarged lounge area.
Boars Hill is a beautiful area, situated to the south east of Oxford City within the Oxford Green Belt. As a result of this however, any development that would require planning approval is restricted to a 30% total volume increase for a property of this size. As a consequence, in order to provide the amount of accommodation required by my clients, all works are to be done under permitted development.
A large rear conservatory was demolished as part of the works.
